Mr. Fangs

Mr. Fangs

Mr. Fangs lives in Atlanta, you can learn more about him here.

I took lots of pictures of Mr. Fangs on the wall of the"secret" entrance to a club called MJQ. I though I was going for photos of the spray paint on rotting and rain soaked wood, but it turns out I like the tension between these two going heads on the best.

Sweetwater Creek

Another picture from my walk in the woods, I love the light in and on the water. It was very creepy, and very pretty- this is the best shot of it that I could get.

Here's a photo from my Birthday hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park this morning. This is (or was) New Manchester Mill, one of the many things Sherman decided to burn on his way to the sea.

Chicago Cultural Center

Chicago Cultural Center
Originally uploaded by wordboy.

A snap from my glorious weekend in Chicago. Here is some of the most graceful architecture from the true palace of Chicago culture (and she deserves one), the Chicago Cultural Center. That this was once the Chicago Public Library makes me wistful for the days when we actually built temples to house our artistic treasures, filled with rich details and inspiring spaces. A bit of time will show weather some of the "temple redux" plans for the likes of The High Museum of Art (Atlanta) or The Art Institute Chicago (both by Renzo Piano) can compare. I'm old fashion and will probably always prefer mosaic coated arcades to clean white spaces.

This photo brought to you by my new camera- and my new plan to post a picture a day in my soon-to-be 29th year (dont worry, my birthday is not 'till Thursday, you still have time to lavish me with presents).
