Chicago Cultural Center

Chicago Cultural Center

A snap from my glorious weekend in Chicago. Here is some of the most graceful architecture from the true palace of Chicago culture (and she deserves one), the Chicago Cultural Center. That this was once the Chicago Public Library makes me wistful for the days when we actually built temples to house our artistic treasures, filled with rich details and inspiring spaces. A bit of time will show weather some of the "temple redux" plans for the likes of The High Museum of Art (Atlanta) or The Art Institute Chicago (both by Renzo Piano) can compare. I'm old fashion and will probably always prefer mosaic coated arcades to clean white spaces.
