From the Wedding-blog Department
If anyone's curious, here's how the big day is shaping up:
Ceremony site (not confirmed): The house is in the garden (we're just using the garden). The guy on the phone mentioned a ridiculous amount of money to use the park for a ceremony, I may need to go downtown and knock some sense into him.
The Reception (not confirmed, pretty close to confirming)
The caterers (most likely, again not confirmed)
and the photographer (confirmed! A decision at last!)
Still working on flowers, cake(s?) and other such details. . . more as I know it.

No blog for the weary
It's been a busy, busy weekend- but the wedding is starting to come together at last. We're pretty sure we have a site- now we just have to wrestle with the City of Chicago to make sure we can get married in the park we like, and see if we cant work out some parking solutions. Oh, and find a caterer, a florist. . . we did find a photographer, which rocks.
For Debz's question: there are some nifty sites that let you plan out a sort of "honeymoon wish list" for everything from the boring yet essential (ie. requested 20 gifts of $50 each for airfair) to the more quirky or unique (ie. requested 1 gift of $20 to take a "Haunted Edinburgh" tour). Other than that I was looking for ideas- both for companies that are good to the community that should be supported (by asking people to buy things there) and for unique ideas that we may not have thought of. Plus I'm curious to know what lurks on everyone's "if I had the money, I'd buy. . ." list.
More later, work is super busy. The Plains Indian Shirt Show that my department did is coming down this week, so I'm busy assisting packing, etc. Fun but tiring. Let me know (in your comments) what's on your super item dream list. And no Miss Teen USA, you cannot list "world peace."
